Chapter Three: The Beginnings of Something

The final bell of the school day. Unfortunately for me, my school day wasn't over yet. I had to attend soccer practice. I jogged back out to my car to put my bag for school back in the car and grab my gym bag for soccer. I made my way to the girls locker room. I went to grab the door to go inside the building to get there when it was pushed open and smacked right into my face. I fell down hard backwards. "Ouch!" I exclaimed. Suddenly some guy was by my side apologizing his lungs out. "I'm alright. Mind helping me up since you decided it would be cool to knock me down?"

"Of course," he replied as he grabbed my hand and slowly helped me up to my feet. When I was finally on my feet and my head had stopped spinning and looked at who had the nerve to whack me with a door. I knew it was on accident... When my eyes finally connected with his, I froze. Man was he hot! I wasn't able to get many details because my head was still spinning. When he saw my face, he looked surprised and then said, "You're that girl from French... Ellouise was it?"

I groaned, "It's Ella and yes, unfortunately that was me." I snatched my gym bag back off from the ground and even though he was hot. I suddenly didn't like him because he said my full name. I avoided contact as I continued on my way to the locker room.

"Where ya off to?" I heard him call out to me as he caught up. The squeaking of his shoes on the basketball court following the steps of my sneakers.

Without turning around, I answered, "I'm going to soccer practice." I picked up my pace trying to make it into the locker room before he could say anything else.

"You play soccer?" He asked surprised.

I turned to look at him, which almost made him run into me again. He squeaked to a standstill. "Is that really so hard to believe?! Yes I play soccer. What's your name anyway? You know mine but I don't know yours."

He cleared his throat. Apology written all over his face. I sighed. I wasn't trying to be mean. It just came out because today was a crappy day and I normally take out all my anger in soccer practice. Plus, he smacked me in the face with a door! "Sorry. I didn't mean it like that I was surprised you play. I just didn't know. I was interested that's all. My name is Neal, by the way."

I felt so bad after what he said. "I'm really sorry Neal. I don't mean to be rude. It's just been a long day and seven classes with having to correct each teacher that I don't go by Ellouise can get quite annoying and embarrassing. Thanks for your concern but I really have to get ready for practice."

He smiled and I found my heart stabbed by his beauty. Gosh was he hot! "Well I hope you have fun and have a better day tomorrow!" He began to walk away. Then he hollered over his shoulder, "See ya tomorrow in French, Ella!"

I shook my head and entered the locker room. I quickly changed into my soccer gear and raced outside to warm up around the track. As I warmed up to take a jog around the track, the football team was practicing on the field. I tried not to pay too much attention to them. I stretched out my long tanned legs while putting in my headphones for my iPod and I was greeted with my boys. Instantly I felt rejuvenated and raring to go! I began to get my stride on the track. The boys' voices cheering me on as I continued to warm up. A small drizzle had begun and it felt good on my skin.

Soon I was called over to practice with the girls. I felt so alone here.

Practice ended without any incidences. My coach did praise me for my drive. I think he was impressed. Maybe I would get to play quite a bit this season. I changed in the locker room and was currently sitting my car with One Direction playing, waiting for my brother to come out of the boys locker room. I was so ready to go home.

The rain had been falling steadily for the past several minutes when Robby finally got into the car. I put my car in gear, turned down the music and headed home. As soon as we were home, I went down to my room. Since it was the first day of school, I didn't have any homework. So I went straight to catching up on One Direction's day via twitter and filling my day with the laughter it had been missing. The thing that stunk the most is by the time I would get home from school the boys would already be sleeping. I hated the time zone differences. They screwed with my dream of hoping for a follow back or a reply...

I was about to play a funny video that I adored of Harry Styles laugh when someone knocked on my door. "Who is it?"

"It's mom," came the reply.

"You can come in," I sighed, closing my laptop as she opened the door.

"What are you up to, sweetie?" she asked as she sat on the edge of my bed.

I shrugged, "Nothing really. Did you need something mom?"

"Well, I know this move has been hard and everything for everyone, especially you El. Your father and I were wondering if maybe you'd like to go on a trip around summertime..."

I shrugged my shoulders again, "I don't know. Summer is months away, mom. Anything could happen between now and then. Where were you thinking on going to?"

My mom smirked, "I know it's a ways away but we wanted to ask now instead of later. You have to get all A's though, a B is fine but we prefer A's. It's kind of like your graduation present and birthday present all wrapped in one..."

"Okay mom. Spill the beans. I wanna know what you're talking about."

She giggled, "We want to send you to England for the entire summer. You can pick two friends to go with you and we'd have someone there to pick you up and show you around the country. Also... we want to get you tickets for a concert there. It can be any concert of your choosing."

I couldn't breathe. Did my mom just say what I thought she did?! I thought I was going to faint! I couldn't believe my luck! Looked like things were looking up after all! :)
